A top performer at the Mt. Cuba Center Vernonia trial for the mid-Atlantic region, ‘Plum Peachy’ was noted for its excellent magenta-purple floral display in September that goes on to provide late fall and early winter interest as the purple-hued seed heads develop. This selection of the Southeast native V. angustifolia has 4-5’ tall mounded foliage that is distinguished by disease-resistant wine-red narrow leaves and reddish-purple stems. Prefers well-drained soil. Plant 24" apart.
