(Syn. Oenothera lindheimeri) A flurry of crisp white, butterfly-like flowers bloom along airy, arching red stems from early spring into fall, creating a delicate display that lasts for weeks. Lance-shaped green foliage forms a tidy clump 2–3' tall and 12–15" wide, though it may sweep near the ground unless supported by neighboring plants. Leaves can develop maroon spots in cooler temperatures. A true Texas and Louisiana native, this variety thrives in sandy, loamy, or average to poor well-drained soils and prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade. Deer and rabbits tend to avoid it, while pollinators are irresistibly drawn to its charm. Unlike some forms, this selection does not self-seed, making it a low-maintenance garden favorite. Plant 15–24" apart for best results. Highly drought tolerant.
