Native Summersweet thrives in the partly shady, moist shrub border or woodland's edge, and the very fragrant white bottle-brush like flowers in July and August are much valued by birds, butterflies and bees. 'Hummingbird' is a compact variety that grows 3-4' tall and is slower to spread. Brilliant yellow foliage in fall. Plant 36" apart.
