This native has large, stately, but graceful flower heads of dusty rose-pink on strong red 5̉‰6' stems that open during August and provide a late summer and early fall complement to autumn colors. Its flower heads will be a magnet to butterflies; it easily combines with shorter perennials, and has handsome medium green leaves with a compact growth habit. Most prefer some shade at the peak of the day, but are generally tolerant of full sun in good soil. Try Joe Pye Weed in front of some of a tall grass such as Miscanthus 'Gracillimus' for a dramatic late summer effect.
Sunlight Requirements: Full Sun to Partial Shade

We can not ship to following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NV, OR, UT, WA and HI. Plants will be in seasonal condition with appropriate foliage.
We carefully schedule shipments to ensure your plants spend as little time in transit as possible. Most orders ship via UPS Monday through Wednesday, directly from our greenhouses. For nearby destinations, we may occasionally ship Thursday or Friday when delivery is expected before the weekend. Orders that would otherwise remain in transit over the weekend will be held until the following shipping week.
Each plant is carefully wrapped in protective brown paper and packed with excelsior wood wool, a biodegradable material made from thin fibers of aspen wood. This eco-friendly packaging helps keep your plants secure during transit while being kind to the environment.
