This handy dwarf Joe Pye (3-4') has a host of attributes. It is attractive to butterflies, birds, and bees as it is resistant to deer. Thriving in moist, sandy soil with some acidity, its pale pink flowers appear in cone-shaped clusters on red stems in September-October. Content to softly complement many other late summer-fall bloomers, try it with Pennisetum alopecuroides, Asters, Rudbeckias of all sorts, Boltonia, Solidago, and Nippon Daisies. Who says fall gardens are boring! PP#16122
