A native of the forests of the Pacific Coast, this floriferous evergreen is excellent for mass planting as a screen. This drought resistant shrub puts on a colorful show. Its spiny foliage starts bronze-red and turns green as it matures. In fall deep blue, edible berries emerge with purple-red foliage in the winter. Brilliant yellow flowers in spring are followed by deep blue berries in fall. Plant two or more for best berry production. Plant 6' apart.
