The big leaves on this unique specimen plant are shaped like those of the horse chestnut tree and are dark green with some bronzy overtones. Perfect for the dappled shade of high trees, Rodgersia performs best in moist, rich, cool soil. The airy panicles of creamy white flower clusters can be 1À“2' in length during July and August. Figure the mature plant height at 3À“6' with about a 5' width, so give it room to look its best.
