A wonderful native woodland groundcover that grows to 6-12" tall. Unlike European Ginger, this variety nearly vanishes in winter, returning in March as a small close-to-the ground cluster of heart-shaped leaves on very thick stems. It has reddish brown flowers that appear beneath the leaves in spring and are usually hidden from view by the foliage.
Sunlight Requirements: Partial Shade to Full Shade
USDA Hardiness Zones: 4-8
