The fiery red flowers of Crocosmia are truly eye-catching in the middle of the border in July and August. At 3', the long-lasting flowers are complimented by sword-like foliage that does best in a sunny well-drained fertile soil. Provide this bulbous perennial with mulch in the winter while it strengthens its roots. A splendid cut flower, try it in the garden with Achillea 'Moonshine', Coreopsis 'Moonbeam', white Liatris, or purple Echinacea.
