¼” wide shiny leaves are upright and arching, forming 12-18” tall clumps that spread by underground rhizomes. This mostly evergreen sedge is a southeast and south central U.S. native that prefers moist, well-drained soil but will tolerate some standing water or somewhat dryer conditions. Drooping whitish inflorescences appear in spring and age to brown. Trim lightly in late winter.
